Several years ago Pastor Lynn Weaver felt deeply moved to return to his hometown of Booneville, Arkansas and begin a new work. He asked the Lord if this be His will to allow them two things: first, to start in an actual church house instead of a store front or other such building; second, for at least five families to join them in opening the doors.
Sometime later a church in the heart of the community was vacated by its congregation in a merger with another fellowship of like faith, and the building sold. Again, Pastor Weaver prayed and asked God if this was His leading, to allow the rent to be in a certain financial bracket. When he approached the new owner and inquired as to leasing the property, he found it was indeed available, but the rent was higher than he had prayed it would be. He decided to wait for a while and seek God further. During this time, the owner came by and voluntarily dropped the price saying he wanted to “help the church”. It was now within the range Pastor Weaver had asked for. Five families soon joined them, and on July 14, 1998 Grace Church began. Since then the church has experienced many other signs of the will of God.
Many changes, including the construction of the present facility at 1050 North Plum, have come along since the inception of the church, but two things have reminded continuous: the wonderful harmony of fellowship and the perpetual sweet presence of the Lord.
Grace church is dedicated to the saving of souls and the strengthening of the body of Christ. All who seek after the Lord, regardless of faith or creed, find a friendly smile and an outstretched hand of welcome
